This policy covers the Mortar Gun Drills mobile app and the mortartraining.com website, both operated by Mortar Training Development Systems LLC (“MTDS,” “we,” “us”). It is written in plain language on purpose. If something here does not match what you experience in the app, tell us — the contact details are at the bottom.
Your training data stays on your device. Drill history, timer results, quiz progress, flashcard progress, and settings are stored locally on your phone. They are never uploaded to our servers — for this data we do not operate any — and we never see them.
We do not collect your name, email, or any account information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no profile. We do not ask for your name, rank, unit, service number, phone number, or location.
Three narrow things do involve data leaving your device:
The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or location.
If you choose to give us your email address through the AAR feedback form on this site, we collect only that address and whatever you write in the message. Providing it is entirely optional, and the app works without it.
Your drill, quiz, and flashcard data is used for one thing: showing you your own results and progress inside the app, on your device. We do not receive it, so we cannot analyze, aggregate, sell, or share it.
Crash reports are used to diagnose and fix bugs. Purchase information is used to activate and manage your subscription. Ad data is used by Google to serve ads to free-tier users, as described below.
If you send us an email address with feedback, we use it only to reply to you about that feedback. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to advertisers.
The app uses a small number of third-party services. Each is named here, with what it touches:
Beyond these, the app contains no analytics and no tracking SDKs, and nothing in it profiles you across other apps and websites except as described for AdMob above.
This website is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as IP address) to serve pages and protect against abuse. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking on this site.
All of your training data lives on your device and nowhere else. Deleting the app deletes that data. There is nothing on our servers to delete, because we never had a copy — which also means we cannot restore it for you.
If you use your phone’s built-in backup (iCloud on iOS, Google backup on Android), app data may be included in that backup. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies, not ours.
Crash reports, ad-serving data, and purchase records are held by the third-party services named above under their own retention policies, not on MTDS servers.
Email addresses and feedback messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond, and are deleted on request.
You can use every training feature of the app without giving us any personal information at all.
Mortar Gun Drills is a professional military training tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Because the app is not directed at children, AdMob is configured accordingly; we do not serve ads designed for child-directed treatment, and the app’s store age rating reflects its subject matter.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and move the effective date at the top. Material changes — especially any change to what we collect — will be called out on this page rather than slipped in quietly.
